As the Dragon Boat Festival approaches, KOMP would like to extend our warmest wishes to you and your family. The Dragon Boat Festival, also known as Duanwu Festival, is a traditional Chinese holiday to honor the patriotic poet Qu Yuan. After the Qin army captured Yingdu, the capital of Chu, Qu Yuan refused to live and threw himself into the river with a stone to show his loyalty to his homeland. So in order to commemorate Qu Yuan, the people set up the Dragon Boat Festival to commemorate Qu Yuan. The Dragon Boat Festival is a time to race dragon boat and eat zongzi (sticky rice dumplings). There are some traditional customs, such as hanging mugwort to avoid the "evil month" and drinking realgar wine.
